About The Position

As a Customer Service Representative in Patient Registration, you will be the initial point of contact for patients checking into the hospital. Your role involves guiding patients through the registration process, confidently and compassionately answering their questions, and accurately gathering information in a fast-paced environment. You will build trust with patients during potentially stressful times. No prior healthcare background is required, as R1 provides comprehensive training, making this role an excellent starting point for a healthcare career.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Strong customer service experience
  • Ability to pass background check, drug test, and meet vaccination requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Medical or healthcare experience (but not required!)

Responsibilities

  • Work across multiple computer systems to register patients efficiently
  • Answer phones and gather information quickly and accurately
  • Assist patients who may be ill, anxious, or confused
  • Navigate diverse insurance plans and coverage details (with training!)
  • Adapt to interruptions from clinical teams during urgent care situations
  • Build rapport and ease patient concerns in real time
