About The Position

This Customer Service Representative position involves developing strong working rapport with a national customer base, strategically collaborating with customers, peers, and management. Key responsibilities include reviewing customer requests, providing quotes, following up on quotes, accurately entering customer orders, and coordinating shipping to meet expectations. The role requires effective collaboration with various internal departments such as Production Control, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Engineering, and Accounting throughout the quote and order processes. Additionally, the representative will review and resolve customer issues and is expected to commit to daily learning and put in 100% effort.

Requirements

  • Strong computer skills, particularly with Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent phone etiquette.
  • Ability to develop knowledge of all products and services offered.
  • Basic math knowledge, including some geometrical functions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ERP systems is useful but not required.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints is desired but not required.
  • College, Community College degree, or online classes (certificate) is a plus but not required.
  • Enthusiasm, self-confidence, and a positive attitude.
  • Possess some mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a strong working rapport with our national customer base.
  • Work strategically with customers, peers, and management.
  • Review customer requests and provide quotes that match their requirements.
  • Follow up via email and phone to determine if quotes have been won or lost.
  • Receive and accurately enter customer orders.
  • Coordinate shipping to meet customer expectations.
  • Collaborate effectively with Production Control, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Engineering, and Accounting departments during all phases of the quote and order processes.
  • Review and resolve customer issues that may arise.
  • Commit to daily learning and put in 100% effort.
