The Customer Service Representative plays a key role in supporting customers, resolving service issues, and ensuring a positive experience across phone, email, and in‑person interactions. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a high‑volume call center environment. The position also includes cashiering and scale operations at the transfer station.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Two years of customer service or call center experience preferred.
  • Fast and accurate typing skills; 10‑key proficiency required.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving abilities.
  • General math skills and ability to prepare basic reports.
  • Ability to stand for an 8‑hour shift while cashiering.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by phone, email, and in person in a fast-paced call-center environment.
  • Activate, discontinue, or modify customer services.
  • Record customer information for billing, service changes, and product inquiries.
  • Resolve customer disputes and collaborate with other departments to ensure timely solutions.
  • Engage in sales conversations to promote new or additional services.
  • Prorate customer accounts based on service changes.
  • Delivering service in a manner that promotes goodwill and professionalism.
  • Complete contract forms, determine service charges, collect deposits, and process address changes.
  • Prepare discontinuance orders and maintain accurate account documentation.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in proprietary operational systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Greet and direct customers and employees entering the transfer station.
  • Operate the scale house, weigh trucks in and out, and calculate payments.
  • Balance a cash drawer and process transactions accurately.
  • Track weight information in the computer system and obtain required signatures.
  • Ensure incoming loads are safe and free of prohibited materials.
  • Maintain general upkeep and cleanliness of the scale house.
  • Work on your feet outdoors throughout the shift.
