About The Position

As the first point of contact for customers, the Customer Service Representative is critical to Bar Harbor Bank & Trust’s success. This role involves supporting customers with their day-to-day financial needs and building trusted relationships. The company aims to support, appreciate, and reward employees for their contributions. This is a 30-hour per week opening in the Piermont, New Hampshire branch. The role focuses on assisting customers in identifying financial needs, recommending additional products and services, and making referrals for loans, trusts, investments, and insurance. Representatives will gain an understanding of the banking industry, contribute to meeting branch goals (including deposits and loans), build community relationships, and participate in community growth. Key responsibilities include processing transactions promptly, efficiently, courteously, and professionally, providing exceptional customer service, resolving inquiries, and mastering routine transactions, including account opening.

Requirements

  • An interest and experience in customer service
  • A working knowledge of Windows
  • Customer service experience
  • Enjoys being part of a fast paced, team environment

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers in identifying their financial needs and contribute toward the success of the company by recommending additional products and services
  • Recognize and seize opportunities to make referrals for loans, trusts, investments, insurance, and other exceptional services offered by the bank
  • Gain an understanding of the banking industry and begin to contribute toward meeting branch goals in a variety of categories, including deposits and loans
  • Build trusting relationships with individuals in the communities we serve
  • Be an active participant in, and advocate for, community growth and prosperity
  • Process transactions for customers in a prompt, efficient, courteous and professional manner
  • Provide exceptional customer service, reach effective resolutions, and follow through with customers for all inquiries
  • Obtain general banking knowledge and master routine transactions, to include account opening
