About The Position

As a Customer Service Representative, you will help patients check into the hospital. This role is fast-paced and requires you to be the person patients rely on to answer questions during registration. You will build trust by collecting information accurately and quickly, and by listening with compassion to address their fears, concerns, and questions. To succeed, you need to be a confident multi-tasker, a quick study with technology, and able to type and answer phones. No previous experience or knowledge in healthcare is required, as the company provides all necessary training, making it a perfect starting point to launch a healthcare career. Given it's a hospital/lab environment, you must be prepared to see illness and injuries. Additionally, you must be up to date on all vaccinations, pass a drug test, and pass a background check prior to hire.

Responsibilities

  • Work on computers and answer phones to intake information in a busy environment.
  • Work across multiple screens collecting details that must be input correctly between physician and nurse check-ins.
  • Work around clinicians interrupting the registration process for emergent clinical care.
  • Help people who may be very ill or worried by being present for them and listening carefully to ease their anxiety.
  • Ask follow-up questions and build rapport in real time.
  • Assist patients in completing their registration.
  • Collect patient and insurance information, which will require knowledge through training due to variations in health plans and coverage.
  • Work quickly and expect the unexpected in a fast-paced environment.
