About The Position

Overview: The Claim Technician is responsible for diagnosing vehicle issues, authorizing only necessary repairs, and ensuring clear communication between repair facilities, clients, and service advisors. This role requires a solid understanding of vehicle systems—both mechanical and electrical—along with strong problem-solving and communication skills to provide accurate guidance and support.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of vehicle systems, including mechanical and electrical components.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with service advisors and customers in clear, understandable terms.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and direct drivers to appropriate repair facilities (mechanical and/or collision).
  • Communicate effectively with repair shops and clients to discuss vehicle concerns and service needs.
  • Review and approve required repairs, ensuring accuracy and cost-effectiveness.
  • Document all interactions and updates in the vehicle record within the company’s computer system.
  • Create and maintain preventative maintenance schedules and certificates (mechanical focus).
  • Keep detailed logs of work performed and issues encountered.
