About The Position

Reagent Chemical & Research, LLC. has been a leading US marketer of Hydrochloric Acid for over 65 years with terminals across the US, as well as truck and rail fleets. We are seeking a full-time Customer Service Representative to work in our Houston, TX office to process orders for chemical products telephone or email from customers or sales and performs all additional responsibilities related to HCL and Caustic. The position is 1st shift from 8:30am-5:00pm. Training for this position will be in Beaumont, TX for up to 4 weeks with travel expenses reimbursed.

Requirements

  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks, maintain focus and show attention to detail.

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1-3 months relevant experience or training
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with sales, customers and internal team members
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve issues proactively.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.

Responsibilities

  • Receives orders for products and determines customers product specifications, required shipping date, unique delivery needs and any additional information.
  • Enters data into the system to create orders from phone calls or emailed information and provides order confirmations.
  • Processes all order changes and cancellations in the system
  • Records and saves copy of orders received.
  • Routes orders to dispatchers based on delivery location.
  • Follows up with customers and sales on any unresolved issues or late deliveries.
  • Conferring with sales and dispatch to expedite, track missing or delayed shipments.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
