About The Position

Valley View Hospital is seeking a qualified individual to work in our Patient Financial Services department as a Customer Service Representative. This position is PRN (as needed), day shift, with no weekends. Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred. Additional college or business courses preferred. Working knowledge of medical terminology high preferred. This is a benefit-eligible position. Eligible for Employee Referral Bonuses…refer a friend and earn $$$ GENERAL OBJECTIVES The Customer Service Representative is responsible for assisting patients with all questions or issues related to the revenue cycle using exceptional interpersonal and decision-making skills. Calls unrelated to the revenue cycle will be properly handled to ensure patients’ questions are resolved to their satisfaction. The Customer Service Representative will communicate in a compassionate and professional manner from a strong revenue cycle knowledge base.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or the equivalent.
  • Two years of office experience required
  • Customer service experience required (retail, hotel/motel, banking)
  • Typing 50 wpm is required
  • Exceptional customer service skills required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required
  • Must have strong interpersonal, communication, and listening skills
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to address difficult situations and resolve conflict with ease, poise and tact
  • Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred
  • Additional college or business courses preferred
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology highly preferred
  • A Certified Patient Accounts Technician certificate is preferred
  • Admissions or billing background in a hospital or other healthcare setting is preferred
  • Insurance, banking, or accounts receivable/collections experience preferred
