The Customer Service Representative is a full-time, permanent position in the Oxford Utilities. The immediate supervisor for this position is the Business Manager. The person in this position is supervised on a daily basis and has no supervisory authority. The Customer Service Representative works regular hours year-round with occasional overtime and night work. There is no shift work for this position. The person in this position is not on call. 100% of the work for this position is indoors in an office environment. The position has accountability for monetary issues related to the work for which this position is responsible. There is no exposure to chemicals and/or hazardous materials. The person in this position must have a high school diploma or its equivalent. The stress level associated with this position is moderately high and may be higher during certain period of the year. Physical work involved with this position includes, sitting and standing for extended periods of time. The Customer Service Representative is responsible for collecting payments from customers, balancing the cash drawer daily, taking requests for utility services and answering the telephones and assisting customers. This is an extremely visible position. The ultimate responsibility of every employee is to serve the customers in a friendly, courteous manner and to maintain a positive relationship with fellow workers.
