About The Position

The Customer Service Representative at Lower Valley Water District is responsible for providing effective and efficient public service assistance to customers. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Two years of clerical, bookkeeping, or public service experience.
  • Knowledge of departmental billing and customer service request processing.
  • Good knowledge of general office procedures and customer service practices.
  • Good knowledge of basic telephone etiquette techniques.
  • Familiarity with personal computers and word processing software.

Responsibilities

  • Receive customer telephone and walk-in inquiries, providing information and responding to complaints.
  • Verify and reconcile figures on computerized customer billing systems.
  • Maintain and reconcile customer billing and account maintenance records.
  • Sort and search records to provide factual data.
  • Trace discrepancy balances and reconcile accounts.
  • Perform document and data organization tasks.
  • Maintain files and record-keeping systems; compile information and reconciliation.
  • Perform closed accounts collections work, including establishing credit for closed accounts.
  • Prepare daily disconnects and administer accounts requiring field action.
  • Administer customer accounts and billing payment arrangements.
  • Verify and maintain customer field work orders.
  • Process mail payments and verify cash draws.
  • Coordinate various projects or activities assigned by the Customer Service Manager.
  • Perform complex billing calculations and adjust billed accounts as needed.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees and the public.
