About The Position

The Customer Service Representative III position is responsible for establishing contact with both internal and external customers, providing them with information or assistance concerning the services offered by the agency, institution, or unit. Responsibilities include operating various types of telephone or communications equipment, issuing equipment and supplies, processing applications for licenses or permits, and serving as a cashier. The role also involves supervising employees, ensuring quality customer service, and overseeing staff training and development. This position is a leadership role where employees perform duties at all levels of complexity and serve as a first-level supervisor, planning day-to-day operations of assigned staff and developing policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • One year of experience in sales, public contact work, handling and processing mail, or general office clerical work.
  • Four additional years of experience in customer service, mail room operations, or technical clerical work.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to perform moderately heavy lifting.
  • Ability to touch type.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors e-messaging on Securus.
  • Maintains ACA files.
  • Supervises employees and ensures quality customer service.
  • Provides accurate and timely information to customers.
  • Oversees staff training and development.
  • Responds to requests for informational materials and fills those requests.
  • Prepares notice of statements and sends copies to customers.
  • Reconciles discrepancies in billing and issues reminder notices.
  • Maintains inventory and purchases necessary materials.
  • Receives customers or visitors and answers telephone calls.
  • Secures and provides requested information or directs requests to appropriate personnel.
  • Screens, examines, and verifies documents for correctness and adequacy.
  • Prepares mail and parcels for mailing and sorts and distributes mail.
