About The Position

Customer Service Representative (Journey Level) Public-facing role handling customer inquiries, complaints, and transactions by phone/in person, resolving issues, processing paperwork, exercising judgment on policies, and performing daily cash handling and deposits.

Responsibilities

  • Serve customers by phone or in person: provide product/service information, take orders, cancel accounts, issue licenses/registrations/titles/permits, and determine program eligibility
  • Resolve complaints and billing issues (exchanges, refunds, adjustments) and verify resolutions
  • Document all customer interactions, inquiries, complaints, and actions taken
  • Prepare contracts, change-of-address records, and service discontinuance orders
  • Calculate charges, collect payments/deposits, and arrange billing
  • Contact customers to answer inquiries or communicate claim results/adjustments
  • Refer complex/unresolved issues to appropriate departments
  • Exercise discretion to release information, resolve difficult complaints, research issues, and apply policies/procedures
  • Handle cash: receive payments, issue receipts, reconcile daily, and prepare/transmit deposits to bank or State Treasurer's Office
