About The Position

The Customer Service Representative II serves as the primary point of contact for the City of Mount Dora, providing professional assistance to the public. This full-time position involves a variety of clerical, record-keeping, and customer service duties related to City services, requiring a high level of professionalism and the ability to work independently under general supervision.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Minimum three (3) years of customer service experience.
  • Must be bondable.
  • Valid Florida Driver License.
  • Completion of National Incident Management System (NIMS) training within 6 months of probation.

Responsibilities

  • Greets and assists customers with inquiries regarding City utility services and general information.
  • Performs customer service functions independently, using initiative and judgment.
  • Receives and processes customer payments for utility and other services, including cash transactions.
  • Counts and balances all cash and payments received.
  • Maintains records, posts data, and performs arithmetic calculations accurately.
  • Updates customer files and enters data for new and terminated customers.
  • Answers inquiries via telephone, in person, and by mail.
  • Prepares bank deposits as needed.
  • Interprets and applies City policies and procedures in daily operations.
  • Prepares and completes work orders for various City services.
  • Reviews customer and utility data to resolve billing complaints and inquiries.
  • Utilizes various computer software applications for daily tasks.
  • Operates general office equipment and assists with customer service functions.
  • Provides training and mentoring to newly hired Customer Service Representatives.
