About The Position

The Customer Service Representative I position in Overland Park, KS, is responsible for answering and resolving telephone inquiries and requests initiated by customers or prospective customers in a prompt, accurate, and courteous manner. The role requires the use of proper telephone etiquette and all available resources to respond to incoming customer inquiries, requests, and complaints competently and courteously. Responsibilities include troubleshooting inquiries, following up with customers on unresolved issues, completing required documentation, reporting laboratory results to clients and patients, and escalating issues as appropriate to keep supervisors informed of client concerns. This position operates Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
  • One (1) to two (2) years of customer service and/or related health care experience preferred.
  • Previous medical or clinical laboratory background preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems.
  • Good listening skills.
  • Ability to maintain a professional and tactful manner in stressful situations.
  • Ability to deal with client information in a confidential manner.

Responsibilities

  • Answer and resolve telephone inquiries/requests from customers or prospective customers.
  • Use proper telephone etiquette to respond to customer inquiries.
  • Troubleshoot inquiries and follow up with customers on unresolved issues.
  • Complete all required documentation associated with handling calls.
  • Report laboratory results to clients and patients using established protocols.
  • Follow through in a timely manner to resolve all issues and concerns.
  • Escalate issues to keep supervisors informed of client concerns.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
