The City of Chino is seeking a part-time Customer Service Representative I/II for the Human Resources/Risk Management Department. This role involves performing clerical and administrative duties to support city staff and functions, including account processing, recordkeeping, and providing assistance to the public. The position requires a dependable and detail-oriented individual who enjoys working in a collaborative team environment and is eager to learn.

  • Answer incoming telephone calls and provide information to the public, vendors, and City staff.
  • Review, process, and file documents and records.
  • Compose, type, format, and proofread a variety of documents and correspondence.
  • Collect and distribute incoming mail, packages, and correspondence to appropriate staff.
  • Organize, archive, scan, copy, and maintain records and files.
  • Compile and record statistical data and create routine reports.
  • Create and edit department media, including website content and newsletters.
  • Collect fees and payments from the public and maintain records of revenues collected.
  • Order supplies and ensure adequate inventory of department supplies.
  • Schedule and coordinate appointments, meetings, and training sessions.
  • Equivalent to completion of the twelfth (12th) grade.
  • Customer Service Representative I: One (1) year of clerical experience.
  • Customer Service Representative II: Two (2) years of increasingly responsible clerical experience.
  • Ability to type at a speed of 40 net words per minute (desirable).
  • Knowledge of effective reception and telephone techniques, basic mathematical practices, and cash handling principles.
  • Experience in customer service roles.
  • Familiarity with office software and communication tools.
  • Part-time work schedule with flexible hours.
