About The Position

Basic Function: Our Customer Service Representatives are responsible for providing excellent customer service to patrons of the Skokie Park District who contact the Devonshire Cultural Center in person at the front desk or by telephone. Representatives greet internal and external customers, provide information about District programs, and use our RecTrac processing system for transactions. Representatives answer the telephone in a professional manner, use a shared email account, and use their personal cell phone for scheduling purposes. Process program registrations and refunds through the RecTrac system Process passes, ticket sales, enrollment rosters specific to facility Process end of shift paperwork and receipts, manage transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, and Skokie Park District gift cards May be assigned specialty transaction duties such as off-site ticket sales, waitlist management, alcohol sales for special events (with Basset certification), and social media monitoring for Devonshire sites and calendar entries Maintain cleanliness of the front desk and display areas, making sure promotional materials are current Communicate with Customer Service Supervisor, custodial staff, and Facility Manager with regard to activities, events, room set-ups, ordering materials, and special considerations Answer incoming telephone calls and handle inquiries with regard to Skokie Park District programs and events. Properly communicate voicemail and in-person messages to the appropriate parties Assist supervisors and staff members with various clerical jobs as needed Greet and communicate with customers in a courteous and professional manner Attend mandatory staff meeting and trainings as assigned Support building-wide events with specialty jobs Opens, closes, and secures facility following procedures provided by Facility Manager or Customer Service Supervisor as needed Adheres to and actively enforces the safety responsibilities and safety procedures as outlined in the District's Safety Manual and Risk Management program Performs other duties as assigned Must be available to work Saturdays and Sundays, for shifts up to 6 hours, between the hours of 8:30am-9:30pm. Must be able to work evening shifts for up to 6 hours between 2:00-9:30pm. Typically, Customer Service Representatives work 2-4 shifts per week. This job falls in paygrade PT4. The target hiring range for this position is $16 depending on qualifications.   • Can obtain CPR and AED certification
  • MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK WEEKENDS
