About The Position

The position involves maintaining professional relationships with customers, carriers, and other Kinder Morgan departments/employees. The role requires handling all necessary paperwork as defined in the truck Operating Procedures to efficiently execute customer truck orders in Kinder Morgan's Galahad inventory system and customer inventory systems. Attention to detail and accurate calculations are crucial to avoid serious and costly errors. The individual will work closely with multiple departments as a team to meet all customer needs and demands, requiring the ability to multi-task effectively. Responsibilities include creating plant operating orders, taking phone calls, interfacing with truck drivers, communicating via radio, and contacting customers to resolve conflicts. The role also involves issuing proper placards, seals, SDS, COA, and product ID tags to drivers, obtaining tare and gross weights of trucks, and calculating the quantity of product loaded. An accurate legal D.O.T. BOL must be created to meet KLM, D.O.T., and customer requirements, along with completing truck movement data in the KM and customer inventory systems. The position aims to provide 100% customer satisfaction and requires following through on customer-related issues. The individual will maintain proficiency in using customer orders, the Kinder Morgan Order creation system (Galahad), and Kinder Morgan's dual verification procedure. The role also involves handling issues related to the movement of customer products by interfacing with other Customer Service Representatives, Operations Supervisors, Dispatch personnel, and the Sales Department to offer and execute solutions in a timely manner. Cross-training on all KM accounts is required, and the individual must satisfy all customer requirements as business demands. Teamwork among co-workers is essential to ensure all customers are 100% satisfied efficiently and timely. The position may also involve performing job-related special assignments and monitoring customer inventory to ensure sufficient space/product availability for requested orders.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and/or GED; college experience is a plus.
  • 3-5 years of experience working in the terminal industry.
  • Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.
  • Experience dispatching, scaling trucks, and calculating loads according to DOT regulations.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment testing.
  • Excellent math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and fractions).
  • Detail-oriented with proficiency in applications such as Excel, Data Entry, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge and ability with systems such as SAP and/or other inventory systems.
  • Ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage the dispatching office with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work from written and verbal instructions.
