About The Position

We are looking for a Customer Service Representative (Creditor Underwriting) - Bilingual. We currently have an opening in our Call Centre for a Telephone Customer Service Representative for our Creditor Underwriting department. We contact applicants over the phone who are applying for Creditor Insurance for the purpose of collecting medical information and to complete required questionnaires.

Requirements

  • Bilingualism (fluent in French and English) required, as the position will regularly serve our clients with English and French-speaking needs.
  • Customer service focused
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of Medical terminology (course completed or in progress)
  • Excellent listening and communication skills
  • Professional and able to maintain confidentiality
  • Positive and collaborative attitude
  • Strong keyboarding skills with high level of accuracy
  • Able to work between 8am - 8pm EST (three shifts on rotation)
  • Reliability Status Security Clearance – this can only be completed with candidates who receive an offer of employment. This is a personal security status that is required as a condition of employment before an employee can gain access to Protected B information, assets or work sites as outlined by the Government of Canada website. The cost of submitting these checks will be covered by Canada Life.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with applicants in English
  • Handle inbound and outbound calls to obtain medical information from applicants
  • Responsible for processing applications
  • Process requests for additional information from underwriters
  • Respond to calls in a timely and professional manner
  • Maintain performance standards such productivity, quality, and schedule adherence
