About The Position

The Customer Service Representative II position at Southwest District Health (SWDH) is a full-time role focused on providing high-quality customer service to the community. The representative will engage with clients to assist with various public health services, including reviewing permit applications, scheduling appointments, and ensuring compliance with health regulations. This role is integral to improving community health and requires a commitment to customer service and teamwork.

Requirements

  • Some knowledge of interviewing methods, typically gained through relevant college courses or work experience.
  • Approximately 6 months of related work experience in interpreting regulations and handling complaints.
  • Valid Driver's License is required.
  • Good knowledge of medical terminology, typically gained through education or work experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Experience using database and spreadsheet software.

  • Fluency in speaking, reading, and writing Spanish and English.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct customer service for all SWDH customers, including handling inquiries and processing applications.
  • Review subsurface sewage permit applications and food compliance applications.
  • Schedule client appointments and determine eligibility for federal programs.
  • Process payments and maintain legal program records for six counties.
  • Gather client data and provide health and community program resource information.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and privacy policies while handling sensitive information.
  • Utilize electronic health records (EHR) to manage client files and documentation.
  • Conduct in-depth client interviews to assess needs and resolve issues.
  • Participate in outreach programs and travel to other SWDH clinic locations.
