About The Position

SUMMARY Responsible for cultivating and strengthening customer relationships by efficiently and courteously assisting customers in-person and via phone with selecting and purchasing materials and products. Conducts counter sales transactions including cash sales and open account order pickups. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES (Other duties may be assigned) Answers phone calls quickly and efficiently. Assists counter customers with orders, quotes, and delivery times. Conducts all counter sales transactions by entering orders into the computer. Maintains good product knowledge to ensure timely and efficient customer service. Verifies and completes all necessary information before entering sales transactions. Provides suggestions needed to meet and/or exceed sales goals. Resolves or alerts management regarding inventory issues or customer concerns. Receives payment or obtains credit authorization. Examines defective materials returned by customers to determine if refund or replacement should be made. Displays merchandise, suggests selections that meet customer's needs, and emphasizes selling points of products. Maintain a clean and organized showroom.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to understand customer needs and meet those needs.
  • Highly organized with exceptional follow-through abilities.
  • Experience in developing relationships with customers.
  • Strong verbal and written communications.
  • High integrity with advanced social skills and ability to make solid connections.
  • Personality that blends well with a fast-paced, goal-driven environment.
