About The Position

The Customer Service Representative at ExpressWay in Brandon, SD is responsible for ensuring efficient store operations during assigned shifts while providing excellent customer service. This part-time position involves various tasks including running the register, stocking shelves, and maintaining store cleanliness, all while adhering to company policies and regulations.

Requirements

  • Ability to speak, read, and understand written and spoken English at the eighth-grade level.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations for making change and completing shift reports.
  • Sufficient visual acuity to check identification and process money orders.
  • Ability to read and understand instructions for operating electronic cash registers and other equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs regularly.
  • Ability to stock shelves and coolers, and perform cleaning tasks that require climbing, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crawling.
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to gasoline fumes and cleaning products.
  • Ability to work in cooler temperatures of 35 degrees for up to 20 minutes and in freezer temperatures of 20 degrees for up to 3 minutes.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, possibly nine or more hours, and work alone.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and thank every customer.
  • Observe shift operating hours as assigned.
  • Report to work on time for scheduled shifts.
  • Perform daily tasks including running the register, stocking shelves, and cleaning.
  • Adhere to all City, County, and State regulations, policies, laws, and ordinances.
  • Provide each customer with prompt and courteous service.
  • Stay current with Company Price Book, Training Manuals, and Employee Bulletins.
  • Comply with all safety requirements.
  • Notify management of all sales, cash, or operation discrepancies.
  • Prepare a shift-change report at the completion of each shift.
  • Document all hours worked on the approved time card and sign to verify accuracy.
  • Notify management of any discrepancies during assigned shift or cash over/short conditions.
  • Assure proper sale and accounting for money orders and lottery ticket sales.
  • Ring all sales as per Company policy and provide customers with receipts.
  • Accurately post price adjustments, store use of merchandise, voids, and write-offs.
  • Notify management of any personnel situations or policy violations.
  • Assist with controlling inventory during assigned shift.
  • Follow Company policy regarding cash in the register and safe security measures.
  • Protect company assets with honesty.
  • Keep coolers, drink boxes, and store shelves fully stocked and fronted.
  • Clean and maintain equipment and prepare high-margin products as directed.
  • Use correct pricing for all merchandise.
  • Maintain clean store floors and check refrigeration equipment performance.
  • Clean windows, floors, shelving, counters, gas pumps, and front of store regularly.
  • Empty trash as needed and clean restroom areas as assigned.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
