About The Position

The position involves placing customer orders through various methods including telephone, fax, email, and in-person sales. The role requires negotiating sale and purchase prices to influence Motion Industries' gross profit while ensuring customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include building customer relationships, maintaining inventory levels, expediting backorders, and determining cost-effective shipping methods. The position may also involve coaching less experienced Customer Service Representatives and handling complex customer inquiries regarding products.

Responsibilities

  • Places customer orders via telephone, fax, email, electronic methods, or walk in (counter sales).
  • Negotiates sale price and purchase price within certain parameters to influence gross profit.
  • Adjusts non-contract customer pricing based on competition while maximizing profit.
  • Builds customer relationships to drive repeat business and process improvements.
  • Orders items to maintain appropriate inventory levels for customers.
  • Expedites backorders.
  • Pulls inventory and prepares orders for shipment to customers.
  • Sources products in branch inventory, distribution center inventory, or supplier inventory.
  • Determines the most cost-effective shipping method for customer orders.
  • Handles customer returns.
  • May be assigned to one customer.
  • Provides coaching, guidance, and direction to less experienced Customer Service Representatives.
  • Assists less experienced Customer Service Representatives with customer needs.
  • Responsible for quality and/or safety in the branch.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Responds to complex customer inquiries regarding products, provides quotes, and handles order entry.
