The Customer Service- Donor Support Technician is responsible for preparing the donor, donor area, and equipment for the pheresis process. This includes preparing the autopheresis machine, monitoring the donor and the pheresis process, and responding to alarms or signals that may occur during the process. The technician will disconnect the donor when the process is complete and maintain alertness to any reactions the donor may have during or after the pheresis process, notifying appropriate staff as necessary. The role also involves using a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) to record incidents during the pheresis process, linking equipment and soft goods to the appropriate donor, and ensuring accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The technician must maintain a clean and efficient work environment, ensure sufficient operating supplies are available, and follow all Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) policies. Confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information must be maintained, and the technician may be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs. Bilingual skills may be required to meet the needs of the business.

  • Link equipment and soft goods to the appropriate donor using PDA.
  • Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
  • Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system.
  • Understand policies and procedures associated with hyper immune programs.
  • Maintain a clean and efficient work environment.
  • Ensure sufficient operating supplies and forms are available.
  • Follow all Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) and OSHA policies.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information.
  • May be cross-trained in other areas.
  • Perform job-related duties as assigned.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of three (3) months' work experience, preferably in a medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to perform basic math calculations.
