The Customer Service - Donor Support Technician is responsible for preparing the donor, donor area, and equipment for the pheresis process. This includes preparing the autopheresis machine, monitoring the donor and the pheresis process, and responding to alarms or signals during the process. The technician will disconnect the donor when the process is complete and maintain alertness to any reactions the donor may have, notifying appropriate staff as necessary. The role also involves using a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) to record incidents during the pheresis process, linking equipment to the appropriate donor, and ensuring accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system. The technician must maintain a clean work environment, follow health and safety policies, and may be cross-trained in other areas as needed.
