About The Position

As a Customer Service Consultant, you will be the vital link between a customer’s at-home and in-store CarMax experience, providing a simple and seamless process. You will respond to sales leads and customer inquiries, ensuring customers can buy the vehicle they want in a way that suits them. You will offer support during every step of their car buying journey. CarMax has become the nation’s largest retailer of used cars due to honesty and transparency. The Customer Experience Consultant Trainee role also serves as a vital link in the customer journey, responding to sales leads and inquiries. CarMax is the nation’s largest retailer of used cars, growing and rethinking the car buying process. Requirements

  • Must be open to shifting schedules two times per year according to needs of the business.
  • Candidates must live within 100 miles of the Customer Experience Center (CEC) location.

  • Sales and customer service experience, in an area such as retail, is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Connect with inbound customers online and over the phone to find out what they want and need from their next car purchase.
  • Use your knowledge of the CarMax inventory to guide customers towards vehicles that meet their needs.
  • Guide customers every step of the way, from online sales or appraisal to arranging finance applications and scheduling vehicle delivery.
  • Ensure a seamless transition from online to in-store purchasing to provide an unrivaled customer service experience.
  • Mentor others as your skillset expands.
  • Achieve sales targets while providing an iconic customer experience.
  • Acquire the Automotive Sales Persons License in specific states – may require testing and travel as some states request physical presence to apply for the license.

Benefits

  • Up to 48 hours of sick time per year accrued on a per pay period basis.
  • Between 80 hours and 200 hours per year of vacation time after a 90 day waiting period depending on years of continuous service with the Company.
  • 8 hours of pay for each of a total of 6 paid scheduled holidays per year plus 1 floating holiday.
  • Holiday Premium Pay if working on a scheduled holiday due to business need.
  • Paid time away with no specified limit as needed for sick, vacation, bereavement, jury duty, holidays, floating holiday, etc. subject to manager approval (for full-time salaried associates).
