South Ogden City is seeking a part-time customer service professional who is willing and capable of assisting our residents in a pleasant and efficient manner. This position serves as the primary point of contact for customers at the front counter, via telephone, and through electronic communication. Provides detailed information regarding city and court procedures, parks reservations, business licensing, passports, building permits and utility accounts, etc. Addresses and resolves customer questions, concerns, and complaints and liaisons with appropriate departments when necessary to ensure full resolution. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Providing customer support for utility billing. Create, maintain, and update records for all customer accounts; monitor delinquencies and collections from customers; process credits, deposits, refunds, balance transfers, payment arrangements, and write-offs as applicable. Processes applications for utility services, building permits, business licenses, and passports; manage calendars for park reservations. Accurately process, receipt, and track cash, check, and electronic payments for utilities, court fees, and permits, reservation, etc. Process work orders for garbage collection; broken or new can orders, can pick-up, garbage collection issues, schedules, and other account inquiries as needed. Support weekly Justice Court sessions by managing attendee check-ins. Perform court administrative tasks, including processing case payments and providing information on court schedules and procedures. Qualified applicants will have a high school diploma (or equivalent) and two years of customer service/cash handling or accounting experience. An associate's degree and/or bi-lingual English/Spanish are preferred. Candidates must be: eligibility to receive security clearance to access the State Computer System (UCJIS) reliability and be capable of maintaining good attendance. be flexible and able to cover others' shifts with little or short notice. The starting hourly wage for this position is $21.30 to $24.39 per hour, based on experience. The position is scheduled to work 30 hours per week during core business hours.
