About The Position

Job Summary: Provide clerical support to Transportation staff. Provide customer service to both internal and external customers. This is a seasonal position and subject to layoff. This is an hourly, non exempt position that will work with direct and indirect supervision. Essential Functions: Answer telephone and interact pleasantly and professionally with both internal and external customers to schedule their material delivery needs. Assist and support Dispatchers to provide accurate and timely information relative to delivery needs and scheduling. Provide clerical support to and data entry for Transportation staff. Refer requests for special pricing to the appropriate sales person. Perform weighmaster duties as assigned. Exercise proper care and maintenance of company equipment. Frequently work more than 40 hours per week and non traditional hours including night shift, Saturdays and occasionally Sundays. Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of State and Federal regulations regarding vehicle weights, rules of the road, and hours of service.
  • Knowledge of Local, state, and federal traffic laws.
  • Knowledge of GOH geographical territory.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Ability to Learn and follow GOH company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to Learn Command Alkon, Apex & associated vehicle tracking software.
  • Ability to Use computer and related office equipment.
  • Ability to Work in a professional manner in a high stress, fast paced environment.
  • Ability to Multi-task
  • Ability to Read and explain maps and directions.
  • Ability to Obtain weighmaster's license.
  • Demonstrate above average organizational, analytical and memory skills to effectively and efficiently handle multiple priorities with short deadlines.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have strong data entry, typing and computer skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous customer service experience preferred.
  • Previous clerical experience preferred.
  • Prefer a valid driver's license for state in which you reside with acceptable driving record per company minimum standards for drivers.
