About The Position

The part-time Customer Service / Bookkeeper position requires availability for night shifts. The role involves a variety of bookkeeping and customer service tasks within a grocery store environment. The bookkeeper will report directly to the Store Manager and is expected to have a comprehensive understanding of front-end department practices. Previous experience as a bookkeeper in a grocery store is considered a plus.

Responsibilities

• Have a total understanding of front end department standard practices.
• Assist in training other associates when assigned and certified.
• Observe and follow all company policies and established procedures.
• Maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance at all times and follow company personal appearance policy.
• Process all types of transactions accepted by the store including cash, checks, electronic payments, food stamps, and more.
• Verify all customer IDs presented and observe store policies pertaining to the acceptance of checks and the sale of tobacco.
• Adhere to company policy regarding excessive cash in registers and request cash pick-up as needed.
• Daily monitoring of all sales receipts and preparation of bank deposit amounts.
• Observe strict confidentiality of all company records and financial information.
• Detect mistakes and trace errors and omissions efficiently.
• Secure safe/register at all times when unattended.
• Maintain general housekeeping and sanitation standards.
• Perform cashier and/or bagging functions as needed.
• Perform customer service desk functions as needed.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
