About The Position

The Customer Service Associate (CSA) is responsible for receiving cash from customers or team members in payment for goods or services. This role includes a variety of essential duties aimed at ensuring cleanliness, safety, and operational efficiency both inside and outside the facility. The CSA will inspect various areas, adhere to company policies, handle cash transactions, and maintain accurate records of transactions. The position requires flexibility, as the CSA may need to cover shifts for other team members when necessary.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or team members.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, and percentages.
  • Ability to count and verify change funds and cigarette inventory.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect all outside areas including the building, storage buildings, restrooms, dumpster area, lawn, driveway, approaches, fixtures, and lighting for cleanliness, accessibility, operability, and safety.
  • Inspect all inside areas including the office, counter, sales floor, coolers, equipment, merchandise, back room, and restrooms for cleanliness, accessibility, operability, and safety.
  • Read, understand, and adhere to all guidelines in the Kocolene policy manual and training manual.
  • Make change and issue receipts or tickets to customers.
  • Record amounts received and prepare reports of transactions.
  • Work another team member's shift if they fail to come to work or until a replacement is found.
  • Read and record totals shown on cash register tape and verify against cash on hand.
  • Quote prices and describe features of items for which money is received.
  • Give cash refunds or issue credit to customers for returned merchandise.
  • Clock in and out for work and breaks, maintaining accurate time records.
  • Prepare new register drawer with the proper change fund.
  • Understand money handling procedures outlined in the training manual.
