About The Position

The Customer Service Associate for Medical Equipment and Supplies at Carolina Apothecary plays a crucial role in ensuring that customers receive high-quality service when purchasing or renting home medical equipment and supplies. This position involves greeting customers, assisting them with their needs, and providing information about various products and services offered by the company. The associate must be knowledgeable about Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance coverage to effectively assist customers and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations. In this role, the associate will enter customer data and referral information into the system, convert orders into invoices, and maintain adequate stock levels to ensure product availability. Attention to detail is essential, as the associate must verify order information for accuracy before processing. Additionally, the associate will track sales and referral leads for future follow-up, instruct customers on the proper use of medical equipment, and fit prosthetic and orthotic appliances as certified. Customer service is at the heart of this position, requiring the associate to promptly assist customers, answer multi-line telephone calls, and maintain a professional demeanor at all times. The associate will also interact with other departments to coordinate services and ensure customer satisfaction. Compliance with company policies, procedures, and HIPAA regulations is mandatory, and the associate will be responsible for keeping work areas organized and clean. Other duties may be assigned as needed, making flexibility and adaptability important traits for success in this role.
