About the position

The Customer Service Associate / Cashier role involves providing excellent customer service while handling transactions and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area. The position requires interaction with customers, managing cash and credit transactions, and ensuring customer satisfaction through effective communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Handle cash, credit and debit transactions with customers
  • Scan goods and collect payments
  • Ensure pricing is correct
  • Issue change, receipts, or gift receipts
  • Count money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct
  • Resolve customer complaints, guide them and provide relevant information
  • Bag/box items carefully as instructed
  • Greet customers when entering or leaving our establishment
  • Maintain clean and tidy checkout area
  • Answer customer questions and get a manager if answer doesn't solve the issue
  • Bag, box or gift wrap as needed
  • Pleasantly deal with customers to ensure satisfaction
  • Verify stock and restock shelves as needed

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of cashiering experience
  • Proficiency in English
