About The Position

Reporting to the Customer Service Representative, the Customer Service Assistant is responsible for providing a supporting role in billing, file organizing, scheduling, data entry, and other customer service-related areas that are needed.

Requirements

  • Strong math and communication skills are required
  • Principles of customer service
  • Modern office methods, practices, procedures and equipment
  • 10-key proficiency; good data entry skills
  • Computer proficiency including Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Be able to multitask and work accurately, good communicator and personable
  • Perform procedures in an organized and accurate manner; meet deadlines regularly
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers and customers
  • Operate a computer for a variety of applications
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of staff and outside customers
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Problem solve and research issues
  • Work part time hours of 20 hours per week, flexible during normal business hours can be arranged
  • Customer Service experience in manufacturing operation, involvement with Ag industry a plus
  • One-year customer service experience/exposure
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong phone contact handling and active listening skills
  • Frequent use of keyboard
  • Frequent sitting for long periods of time
  • Occasional bending or squatting
  • Frequent decision-making and concentration
  • Frequent exposure to noise

Nice To Haves

  • Customer Service experience in manufacturing operation, involvement with Ag industry a plus

Responsibilities

  • Organize files, mail invoices, matching back up from carriers to sales orders, verify billing, identify and label customer files
  • Collect and review previous day’s shipments to efficiently process and invoice customers accurately
  • Run daily reports for open orders, export to Excel, format, and send to group in Outlook
  • Front office coverage including UPS, USPS, and FedEx, registering guests, managing the visitor log, general public, potential applicants, and inter office mailings
  • Perform related duties and/or special projects as assigned
