About The Position

The Customer Service Advisor (Call Center) - Spanish Speaking serves as the primary voice of WSSC Water customer service, responsible for addressing non-emergency customer inquiries related to water and sewer services, billing, and account management. This role emphasizes delivering excellent customer service, maintaining effective communication, and resolving customer issues in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of customer service experience.
  • 1+ year of inbound call center experience or an Associate's degree with 1+ year of customer service experience.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Superior customer service and empathy skills.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to non-emergency customer inquiries regarding water and sewer concerns, service requests, and billing.
  • Deliver excellent customer service by providing timely and accurate responses to customer questions.
  • Review and analyze complex billing issues for residential and commercial properties.
  • Schedule and process meter readings, payments, and account modifications.
  • Initiate refunds and handle customer assistance program inquiries.
  • Maintain contact and follow-up with customers through various communication channels.
  • Cultivate effective customer relationships to enhance satisfaction.
  • Assist with bill collections and grant bill extensions as needed.
  • Identify and troubleshoot technical issues for customers.
  • Educate customers on water and sewer tips and services.

Benefits

  • Salary range of $23.42 - $39.82 per hour.
  • Eligibility for a hybrid schedule with up to two days of telework after training completion.
