Customer Research and Data Analytics Internship - Las Vegas
About The Position
Interns are hired through a third-party vendor rather than directly by Southwest Gas. This internship is based in Las Vegas, NV. Please note that relocation support, including housing or moving assistance, is not provided for this opportunity. Internship dates: June 1, 2026 - August 14, 2026 Deadline to apply: March 6, 2026 We are looking for interns to join our Customer Research and Data Analytics team for an 11-week period lasting from early June to mid August. This internship requires 40 hours of work per week in a hybrid work environment (at least 2 days in the office and 3 days working remotely from home in Las Vegas). The ideal candidate will have an interest in customer research and data analytics. We are interested in students who have excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills, are experienced in data analysis and visualization, and are preferably familiar with research methods, survey design, and programming. Our paid internship provides an amazing opportunity for students to gain practical experience and train with experienced research and analytics professionals.
Requirements
- Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program
- Excellent analytical skills
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Skilled in data analysis and data visualization (using Microsoft Excel and PowerBI)
- Skilled in project management
- Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative research methodology and survey design
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with programming for data analysis (Python, R, etc) and survey research tools (Qualtrics)
Responsibilities
- Assist with the analysis, reporting, and visualization of customer experience data, including but not limited to customer survey and digital behavior data
- Support customer data analysis by running statistics, building dashboards, and preparing insights for internal stakeholders
- Help implement customer research initiatives, including supporting survey design and development, and organizing and synthesizing findings from interviews, focus groups, or other qualitative research activities.
