About The Position

The Customer Project Trainee position is designed to prepare individuals for the role of Customer Project Associate. This role involves assisting in the coordination and oversight of service-level and routine customer projects, ensuring that objectives are met within tight timelines. The trainee will help develop and monitor work plans, including schedules and expenditures, for various project segments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field, or an Associate Degree with one year of related experience, or a High School Diploma with two years of related experience.
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role.
  • CPM Battery Aptitude Test is required.
  • Valid Arizona Driver's License is required.

  • Computer skills: Windows, Word, Excel, CC&B, GIS, Maximo, and Primavera.

Responsibilities

  • Successfully complete Customer Project Representative Training Program including all on the job training requirements.
  • Perform as project trainee for routine design projects, planning, scheduling, and coordinating all facets from initiation through construction, energization, and close-out.
  • Learn and assist in planning, scheduling, and coordinating all project facets.
  • Identify the best source of APS power and the most cost-effective design based on load analysis and voltage drop calculations.
  • Interface with customers/developers and internal departments to assess needs and determine project scope.
  • Determine the need for easements and permits, processing through APS right of way to obtain required documents.
  • Prepare work authorizations and job estimates, communicating customer charges in advance of construction.
  • Conduct inspections during installation to ensure compliance with APS and safety code requirements.
  • Update project management and customer information databases and close out projects upon completion.
