About The Position

Second Front Systems (2F) is seeking a skilled and motivated customer facing DevSecOps Engineer to join the Customer Experience team. In this role, you'll spearhead our technical efforts to bring customers onboard to our DevSecOps platform (Game Warden). Second Front Systems is working to accelerate the transition and adoption of emerging technology into the national security ecosystem, including the Department of Defense. We are seeking professionals who want to operate on the front lines of an exciting and disruptive mission. This role reports directly to the Director of Technical Delivery within the Customer Experience organization. Additionally, candidates must reside in one of our approved hiring hubs: DC/Maryland/Virginia Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill, NC Denver/Colorado Springs, CO Dallas/Fort Worth, TX As a DevSecOps Engineer at Second Front Systems, you’ll help deploy and support customer applications within our cloud-native Game Warden platform. You’ll play a key role in implementing, maintaining, and improving the infrastructure and workflows that enable secure, compliant deployments for Department of Defense and Intelligence Community customers. You’ll work as part of a cross-functional team to build, test, and operate cloud environments in line with DoD security and compliance standards. You’ll participate in research and development efforts that help enhance deployment pipelines, strengthen platform automation, and support new customer integrations. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with engineers across multiple disciplines to troubleshoot issues, validate deployments, and contribute to ongoing improvements in reliability, performance, and security. You’ll have opportunities to grow your technical depth in areas like containerization, infrastructure as code, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD), while working toward DoD 8570 compliance. Requirements

  • Solid experience designing, implementing, and operating cloud-based infrastructure
  • Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider: AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • Strong working knowledge of containerized applications and orchestration tools
  • Experience deploying and managing workloads with Kubernetes (EKS preferred)
  • Familiarity with Helm for application packaging and deployment
  • Experience using Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Pulumi, Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Understanding of image and container hardening best practices
  • Awareness of CVEs and basic vulnerability management workflows
  • Ability to develop, optimize, and debug scripts and automation tools
  • Proficiency in at least one programming/scripting language (Go, Python, or Bash preferred)
  • Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  • Clear communication and teamwork skills with cross-functional teams
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to grasp complex technical concepts
  • Good organizational and time management abilities
  • Working knowledge of DevSecOps practices including automation and continuous security
  • Familiarity with GitLab
  • Familiarity with Google Workspaces

  • 5-7 years of relevant experience
  • Certified AWS Solutions Architect
  • Experience as a Software Engineer or DevSecOps Engineer
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
