About The Position

IDEXX is looking for a passionate Customer & Market Insights Manager who combines deep executional excellence with genuine curiosity about business strategy. This role is for someone who doesn’t just run studies but is driven to understand what the business is trying to solve, designs research to answer the right questions, and delivers insights that clearly inform decisions. As a Customer & Market Insights Manager at IDEXX, you will serve as an unbiased, rigorous voice of the customer, grounding cross-enterprise teams in what customers truly think, feel, and do. You will translate customer understanding into clear, decision-ready insights that shape strategy, product direction, and go-to-market choices in a global, multi-billion-dollar industry. The IDEXX Customer & Market Insights team is a highly collaborative team of Research Managers (where this role sits) and Business Partners within the Strategy, Content, and Insights arm of the Global Marketing Organization. Research Managers are accountable for the design, execution, and synthesis of primary research, while Business Partners ensure research and analytics are positioned for maximum organizational impact—shaping scope, aligning stakeholders, and sustaining momentum after delivery. Work model Flexible on-site (minimum 8 days a month in Westbrook, Maine) is the preferred work model for this role. Minimal travel may be required for key meetings and customer research (5%).

  • Confidence and skill in deeply interrogating both survey and interview data to uncover nuanced patterns, tensions, and opportunities
  • A mindset that values curiosity, excellence, and unbiased insights, even when they challenge organizational assumptions
  • Fluency in marketing, product, and business terminology, with the ability to connect insights to real-world implications

  • Experience using analytical and statistical techniques (such as key drivers' analysis, regression, or prioritization models) to identify what truly matters to customers
  • Ability to translate research & analytical findings into clear implications and recommendations for non-technical stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Design thoughtful, creative, and rigorous qualitative and quantitative studies grounded in a sharp business question and clear learning objectives
  • Translate business briefs from Business Partners into well-structured questionnaires and discussion guides, drawing on your expertise, best practices, and prior IDEXX research
  • Build surveys in Qualtrics, Alchemer, or Conjointly platforms, optimizing respondent experience and data quality with display & skip logic, randomization, and translation overlay
  • Manage end-to-end fieldwork through direct customer outreach, panel providers, and full-service market research agencies
  • Interrogate, analyze, and synthesize data to move beyond surface-level findings and deliver clear, actionable insights tied directly to business decisions
  • Partner with marketing analysts to integrate primary research with operational, behavioral, or performance data for a more complete story
  • Collaborate closely with Business Partners to prepare and deliver insights that resonate with diverse stakeholder audiences
  • Manage budgets and vendors for your own research projects, including purchase orders, credit card payments, and clear documentation of spend
