About The Position

The Customer Field Operations Crew II position in Fayetteville, NC, involves the installation and maintenance of distribution and transmission pipelines. Responsibilities include operating various machinery like backhoes, trenchers, cranes, and jackhammers, as well as using hand tools for tasks such as making taps, fusing plastic pipe, performing equipment maintenance, and setting up job sites. The role also covers installing leak clamps, laying out lines, cutting and re-wrapping pipes, and site excavation. Additionally, the crew assists with traffic control, pipeline locating, purges, retiring services, and relocating service lines. This role requires working outdoors in diverse weather conditions, on uneven terrain, and involves frequent contact with insects and animals. It demands physical exertion, including lifting up to 100 lbs, frequent bending, stooping, standing, digging, and climbing. The position requires a flexible work schedule, availability for extended hours, call-out, emergency response, and weekend/evening work, with some rotating shifts. A valid Class A CDL is a mandatory requirement, along with prior related experience or completion of an accredited training program. Requirements

  • High School/GED degree
  • Must demonstrate abilities for employment
  • Must have a valid Class A CDL to be considered
  • This position contains a weight restriction of 275 pounds as an essential function of the job
  • Commercial driver’s license (CDL) required
  • Prior related experience or completion of an accredited training program

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of activities associated with the installation and maintenance of distribution and transmission pipelines

  • Perform maintenance on equipment and/or ensure routine maintenance is performed
  • “Squeeze-off” steel and plastic
  • Set-up for job (ensure tools and equipment available)
  • Install leak clamps
  • Layout of line
  • Cut, thread, and re-wrap pipes
  • Perform site excavation
  • Performs and assists in related activities
  • Traffic control
  • Locate pipelines
  • Assist with purges
  • Retire services
  • Assist in relocating service lines
  • Change stop-cocks
  • Performs above functions utilizing a variety of tools and equipment
  • Perform other duties as assigned and required
