About The Position

The Customer Experience Representative at Poudre Libraries plays a vital role in enhancing library services and ensuring positive experiences for patrons. This part-time position involves assisting with circulation tasks, providing support to supervisors, and engaging with the community to promote library resources and services. The representative will be instrumental in connecting customers with information and resources that foster lifelong learning.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one (1) year experience working in a library or retail environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to perform detailed work accurately.
  • General knowledge of office equipment and word processing software.
  • Basic math skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Spanish is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Creates positive experiences for library patrons by effectively performing job tasks.
  • Provides support at the circulation desk and understands associated tasks.
  • Performs shelving duties including loading, unloading, ordering, sorting, and shelving library materials.
  • Directs volunteers in support of or in absence of supervisor/Assistant Circulation Supervisors (ACS).
  • Trains new hires, work study students, volunteers, and existing staff.
  • Researches damaged, lost, and/or missing library items.
  • Troubleshoots customer concerns and system/customer account issues under supervision.
  • Assists with running and reconciling various reports and data collection.
  • Opens and closes the library in the absence of a supervisor under designated supervision.
  • Monitors and assists with overflow/crowding of collections and reports to supervisor.
  • Performs circulation duties including registration and renewal of patrons' accounts, checking materials in and out, and collecting fees and fines.
  • Handles circulation functions of the library's integrated system efficiently with minimal errors.
  • Demonstrates a professional, positive, cooperative, flexible, team-oriented working relationship with staff, co-workers, and volunteers.
  • Stays current on library policies, processes, procedures, and technologies.
