About The Position

The Hive is a vibrant community center located in the Town of Parker, dedicated to fostering connection, growth, and enrichment for all members, including individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). We are seeking an enthusiastic and dependable Customer Experience Professional to support the day-to-day operations of The Hive. This role involves a variety of responsibilities, including opening or closing the center, assisting with classes and certification courses, supporting parties and events, helping with day programs for individuals with IDD, utilizing the company van to transport participants as needed, and operating the POS system to assist guests.  This position may be either full-time or part-time, but successful candidates must have evening and weekend availability.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in related fields (e.g., social work, education, or recreation) are a plus.
  • Previous experience working with individuals with IDD or in a community-focused setting is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and the ability to operate a company van.
  • Ability to pass a background screen and driving record review
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Basic First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
  • Familiarity with POS systems or willingness to learn.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds, with occasional lifting or transferring of up to 75 pounds
  • Comfortable standing, walking, and engaging in physical activities for extended periods.

Responsibilities

  • Facility Operations: 1. Open and close the community center as scheduled, ensuring the space is clean, organized, and ready for use. 2. Perform routine checks of equipment, supplies, and safety measures. 3. Address minor maintenance needs or report issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Program Facilitation: 1. Conduct one-on-one certification classes to teach customers how to use makerspace machines and a/v equipment. 2. Use makerspace machines and a/v equipment as needed to support marketing and programmatic needs. 3. Help with the preparation, execution, and cleanup of events such as parties, celebrations, and community gatherings.
  • IDD Support and Care: 1. Provide meaningful, educational, and supportive services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities receiving on-site day program services. 2. Assist members in services with activities of daily living, including personal care and hygiene or moving to and from a wheelchair. 3. Understand and adhere to individuals’ person-centered support plans, documenting all services in PPCH systems. 4. Foster safe, meaningful interactions between day program members and other visitors.
  • Transportation: 1. Utilize the company van to pick up and drop off participants as required. 2. Ensure the safety and comfort of participants during transit. 3. Maintain the cleanliness and basic upkeep of the van, reporting any maintenance needs promptly.
  • Customer Service: 1. Welcome visitors, participants, and families to The Hive, offering assistance and information as needed. 2. Address inquiries or concerns in a friendly and professional manner. 3. Ensure all participants feel valued and respected during their time at the center.
  • Point of Sale (POS) Operations: 1. Utilize the POS system to process transactions. 2. Maintain accurate transaction records and handle cash and card payments responsibly. 3. Assist guests with purchases in a courteous and efficient manner.
  • Administrative Tasks: 1. Maintain accurate records of attendance, supplies, and program feedback. 2. Assist with registrations, scheduling, and communication with participants and families. 3. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth and efficient program delivery.
