About The Position

The Customer Experience Librarian - Youth at the Jacksonville Public Library is a professional role focused on providing research and reference services, developing and maintaining collections, and creating programs for youth aged 0-18 and their families. Requirements

• Master's degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited program or equivalent experience.
• 2 years of professional library experience or a Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to engage with diverse populations.
• Excellent writing and communication skills.
• Knowledge of Library Science theories, principles, and practices.

• Experience in program development and presentation.
• Familiarity with child development and literacy skills.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide research and reference services to library customers.
• Develop and maintain collections relevant to youth services.
• Design, deliver, and facilitate programs and events for youth.
• Engage with customers to connect them to library resources and services.
• Compile data and prepare reports on library activities.
• Monitor and review budget appropriations for assigned activities.
• Train and instruct staff and volunteers on library policies and procedures.
• Serve as the person on duty as assigned, overseeing library operations.
