About The Position

As a Google Workspace Customer Engineer at Insight, your role demands close, proactive collaboration and seamless, professional interaction with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. Externally, this includes Insight's diverse and valued customer base, where you serve as a technical expert supporting and leading conversations with our sales teams. It involves maintaining a strong and strategic working relationship with our key partners, most notably the Google sales and professional services teams. Internally, you will collaborate with Insight's Sales, Project Management, Change Management and technical delivery teams to ensure project alignment and successful execution. Along the way, you will get to: Your role involves constant customer engagement, with daily interactions throughout the sales cycle—from initial qualification and kickoff through to communication of progress and final closure. You will collaborate with a diverse group of stakeholders, including technical project managers, engineers, and executive leadership. Requirements

  • Technical Sales Engineering Experience: Proven experience in a customer-facing role (5+ years).
  • Expertise in Google Workspace: Possess a comprehensive understanding of the Google Workspace ecosystem and a strong drive to promote its diverse suite of services.
  • Technical Discovery: Experience in being able to identify customer problems, technical objections, and use cases.
  • Associate Google Workspace Administrator certification to be completed within the first 45 days of employment
  • Google Cloud Digital Leader certification to be completed within the first 6 months of employment.
  • Google Generative AI Leader certification to be completed within the first 1 year of employment
  • Generative AI (Gemini Enterprise): Experience with AI platforms, particularly agentic AI capabilities, for automating business processes. Also, experience with third-party integrations.
  • Security & Governance: Understanding how to secure cloud environments, prevent data loss, and set data handling policies through the Admin console.
  • Non-Google Data Migration: Proficiency in migrating mail and files from competitor platforms; Microsoft 365, Box, OneDrive, Dropbox, and on-premise systems to Google Workspace. This requires a deep understanding of Google's best-practice methodologies and migration processes.
  • Google Data Migration: Proficiency in Google to Google migrations using traditional migrations methods and Google's Domain Transfer Tool.
  • Microsoft 365 Ecosystem: Demonstrate a deep and thorough understanding of Microsoft 365 architecture and its associated services. Expertise in planning, managing, and migrating from environments including Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Entra ID, and Purview are essential.
  • RFP/RFI Management: Experience in being able to reply to the technical parts of RFPs and RFIs.
  • Go-to-Market Strategy: Working with Sales Specialists, Marketing, and Customer Success teams to create account strategies and increase pipeline growth.
  • Executive Presence: Experience presenting to and influencing technical stakeholders, such as CIOs and IT directors.
  • Complex Problem Solving: Ability to solve technical problems and adjust solutions for different customer environments.
  • Storytelling & Translation: Ability to explain complex technical information in a clear way that highlights business benefits.
  • Teamwork & Collaboration: Working with different teams within Google and with external partners.
  • Cloud Ecosystem Proficiency: knowledge of cloud platforms including AODocs, Okta, JumpCloud, M.io, Omnissa, CloudFuze, and CloudM
  • Superior communication abilities, both written and oral, with a talent for conveying intricate technical ideas to diverse stakeholder groups
  • Proven history of collaborating effectively with Sales and Engineering teams
  • Skilled in generating technical documentation and assets, such as Statements of Work (SOW) and business proposals
  • Strong organizational skills with the capacity to oversee multiple concurrent workstreams
  • Expertise in presales documentation, specifically in quantifying project scopes
  • Competence in facilitating detailed workshops and meetings covering technical discovery, security, and cloud compliance.

Nice To Haves

  • Capability to write and maintain scripts using Google Apps Script, JavaScript, or Python would be considered a nice to have.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Pre-Sales Support: Collaborate with sales to analyze the technical landscapes and commercial hurdles of potential clients, providing expert guidance as a technical subject matter expert (SME) throughout the sales journey.
  • Technical Demos & Presentations: Deliver impactful live demonstrations, technical presentations, and in-depth architectural reviews for potential clients to highlight the advantages and functionality of Google's solution suite.
  • Defining Project Scope and Resource Estimation: Support the sales process by outlining project requirements, calculating the necessary technical resources, and proactively identifying technical hurdles for proposed implementations.
  • Strategic Technical Partner: Cultivate professional relationships and establish authority with client-side technical leaders, offering expert assistance and resolving obstacles as they transition to the Google Workspace platform.
