About The Position

Customer Engineer (Experienced or Senior) Company: The Boeing Company The Boeing Company has an exciting opportunity for a Customer Engineer (Experienced or Senior) to join our Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Customer Engineering - 737 Account Management team in Renton, WA. Account Management Customer Engineers are the primary technical interface between airline customers and Boeing, and are responsible for defining the contractual airplane configuration. As the authority for the contractual configuration, one will leverage their customer and market insights to curate experiences and solutions that wildly surpass customer’s aspirations and drive a preference for Boeing products. In this position, one will establish and maintain a relationship with airplane customers and guide them through the development, management, and delivery of their airplane configuration. Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Experienced and/or Senior Level Software Engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
  • 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience and familiarity with airplane configuration processes and procedures.
  • Familiarity with design, development, and certification of new features, such as seats, galleys, lavatories, in-flight entertainment, connectivity options, flight deck avionics, monuments, cargo systems, lights, etc.
  • Expertise in resolving cross-functional and cross-program technical issues.
  • Proven ability to lead with the Boeing values & behaviors.
  • Experience applying systems engineering and project management best practices.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Understand customer requirements and communicate their priorities within Boeing.
  • Represent Boeing to the customer and act as the primary technical contact for their configuration definition.
  • Frequently interact with Boeing Sales, Marketing, Contracts and Airplane Program leaders.
  • Lead the configuration development, management, and change processing for all stages of airplane development from pre-proposal to delivery.
  • Assist Boeing and the customer in resolving technical issues during airplane delivery, document unresolved customer issues, and facilitate a positive customer delivery experience.
  • Interact with domestic and international customers and suppliers.
  • Coordinate with diverse technical and business organizations within Boeing.
  • Must be able to travel both domestically and internationally at approximately 25% of the time, as needed.
