About The Position

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Responsible for providing outstanding full service to all customers internally and externally over the phone.

Requirements

  • Some college preferred
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Experience working with medical terminology
  • At least one year of experience working in a call center preferred
  • Knowledge of computer systems and applications including electronic medical records
  • Operate a variety of office equipment and computer programs
  • Answer the telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner
  • Speak clearly and concisely
  • Read, understand and follow oral, and written instruction
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and physicians

Nice To Haves

  • Some college preferred
  • At least one year of experience working in a call center preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage scheduling, cancelling and rescheduling of appointments for patients
  • Answer telephones in a pleasant and helpful manner
  • Take prescription refill requests
  • Acquire and document all patient demographic information accurately
  • Follow protocol for complete patient registration process including verification of insurance coverage
  • Apply billing and collecting practices including securing payment plans
  • Review and disseminate incoming documents
  • Initiate and complete patient portal registration
  • Provide assistance to fellow team members
  • Compliant with HIPAA, NCPA’s Compliance Plan and Code of Conduct policies
