Salary Range: $17.17 - $25.74 Major Duties Provides courteous and professional customer service by telephone, resolving complaints and problems, and responding to general inquiries. Assists the general public and provides standardized, detailed information regarding court cases as well as other functions of the Clerk of Court and County Comptroller’s office. Researches requests and provides detailed responses under authority delineated in statutes and rules. Manages large amounts of inbound calls promptly. Verifies the receipt of payments and filings. Assists with the scheduling of appointments for various clerk services. Accurately enters data into the case management system as required. Performs daily cashier duties as necessary. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent, supplemented by one (1) year of recent and relevant experience.
  • Strong communication skills both oral and written.
  • Detail-oriented, strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to communicate with the public and effectively address their needs in a courteous, tactful, and professional manner.
  • Possess the ability to cope with customers in impromptu situations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form and possess the ability to follow complex oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with co-workers, other governmental agencies, and members of the general public.
  • Ability to use a computer terminal to enter data quickly and accurately.
  • Knowledge of a wide range of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures, office equipment, and terminology.
  • Ability to work with confidential and/or sensitive data and comply with state and federal guidelines.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, while concentrating on repetitious or complex tasks.

Nice To Haves

  • An associate degree or two years of directly related customer service experience; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
