The ideal candidate would be centrally based within two hours flight/driving distance to Kansas City, KS and be able to travel with frequency up to 25%. This position reports to a Sales Director.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or other closely related field
  • 6 years Sales, Marketing, or related experience with a minimum of 4 years’ CPG industry experience successfully managing a customer at HQ Level (AWG customer understanding/relationship a plus)
  • Broker management experience
  • Self-motivated: strong drive and work ethic
  • Understands how Sales integrates with other internal commercialization areas including trade marketing, supply chain, and sales finance
  • Aptitude to make data-driven, insightful decisions
  • Strong negotiation, influencing, and leadership skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication combined with polished presentation skills
  • Analytical mindset and in-depth understanding of Circana/Nielsen consumer insight driven business planning
  • Solid understanding of CPG industry sector and competitive landscape
  • Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • Developing and delivering customer plans to achieve volume objectives and primary day-to-day selling interface at customer HQ
  • Manage sales of McCormick product offerings, policies and procedures, score-carding, annual planning reviews, determine pricing, forecast & distribution for existing brands and new products
  • Sell-in of retail controllables with customer (mix, promotion, shelf, display) and manage deal negotiations
  • Develop strong working relationships with AWG category teams, leadership and key decision makers at AWG’s largest downstream independent customers
  • Determine appropriate product mix and gain subsequent distribution
  • Manage TPM forecast, promotional plans, and trade spend budget
  • Collaborate with Customer Supply Chain team to manage inventory, unsaleable, and associate wholesaler distribution programs
  • Overnight travel required to key markets/accounts as needed to support the business (25%)
