About The Position

The Customer Asset Management Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the System Updates Team within the Loss Mitigation Department at M&T Bank. This role involves managing a team of 10-15 employees, ensuring timely loan closures in compliance with investor and regulatory guidelines, and providing leadership and training to staff. The supervisor is responsible for resolving complex customer account issues, implementing internal controls, and promoting a diverse work environment.

Requirements

  • A combined total of 5 years of higher education and/or relevant work experience in a call center or bank operations environment.
  • At least 2 years' work leadership experience.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to use tact and diplomacy.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant spreadsheet, word processing, and presentation software.
  • Demonstrated work leadership skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic understanding/familiarity with accounting practices.
  • Experience and comfortability working with Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience working with queue/pipeline/case management related work.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily workflow of the System Updates Team to ensure timely loan closures.
  • Resolve complex problems arising from customer account management.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, feedback, and training to staff.
  • Communicate and enforce operational and procedural changes for compliance.
  • Participate in or facilitate process innovation and special projects.
  • Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards.
  • Design, implement, maintain, and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk.
  • Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
  • Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
  • Maintain internal control standards and implement audit points.
  • Exercise authority concerning staffing, performance appraisals, and terminations.
