The Customer Account Specialist role reports to the VP of Branch Operations out of the Home or Branch Office. This role will be responsible for the day-to-day support of the assigned region branch activities.

Requirements

  • Three years’ minimum experience in the packaging industry preferred.
  • Knowledge of accounts receivable processes
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems and related IT applications, NetSuite experience preferred.
  • Experienced in Lean Six Sigma
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to solve problems using a structured approach
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient computer skills including MS Office Suite, TEAMS/Sharepoint and ERP systems.
  • Some domestic travel

Responsibilities

  • Set up new customers and suppliers, working with sales reps and the sourcing team, to obtain the necessary information to complete the customer or supplier set-up.
  • Monitor, manage, and work the open accounts receivable that are past due for the assigned branches.
  • Set up and maintain customer portals. Allocate portal cost to respective branches.
  • Utilize a variety of portals to access invoice status and payment information.
  • Support the facilitation of compliance requests in conjunction with the sales rep and home office.
  • Gather, review, and process new or expired tax exemptions and tax status documents, working with Tax Accounting and the customer to resolve discrepancies.
  • Work with the branch, sales reps, and suppliers to resolve open discrepancies.
  • Work with Customer Service and Accounting to resolve billing/payment issues on customer accounts
  • Monitor KPI’s and take corrective actions as needed
  • Assign and maintain customer freight collect and third-party account set up
  • Support continuous improvement projects to reduce overall total cost of managing business.
  • Other tasks as assigned
