About The Position

The Customer Account Specialist position within the Department of Defense serves as a critical point of contact for customers during the Order Fulfillment process. This role is essential in resolving emergency requests, providing tailored customer support, maintaining customer data, and initiating calls to customers to ensure their needs are met. The specialist is responsible for ensuring the timely processing of customer orders and facilitating customer access to product, account, and order information. This includes processing and expediting priority backorders related to both routine and complex supply issues for customer requisitions. In addition to order processing, the Customer Account Specialist monitors and takes action on assigned projects that involve emergency and contingency efforts, particularly during disaster relief periods. The role requires resolving complex issues and problems related to customer orders, which may involve coordinating with various departments and stakeholders. The specialist also plays a key role in enhancing customer relationships by participating in outreach initiatives aimed at assessing customer satisfaction and informing them of new capabilities offered by the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). Furthermore, the position involves participating in the development of operational changes designed to improve customer service and satisfaction. The specialist must be proactive in identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions that enhance the overall customer experience. This role is vital for maintaining the integrity of customer relationships and ensuring that the DLA meets its mission effectively.
