About The Position

Custom Equipment Assembly Technician (Industrial Machinery) Where: Onsite Engagement: Contract-to-Hire — 6 months Shift: 1st Compensation: $25–$32/hour; overtime-heavy role with faster progression for top performers Can You Turn a Pile of Parts into a Production-Ready Machine? Role Snapshot Read and act on detailed mechanical/engineering drawings without supervision Assemble complete machines and subassemblies using hand and power tools Install and align frame structures, drives, motors, shafts, drums, rolls, and bearings Route and connect pneumatic and hydraulic components Mount sensors, brackets, and guarding with precision Execute operational tests; make final adjustments to meet tolerance, finish, and performance targets Move large parts using forklifts and cranes—safely and efficiently Support shipping/receiving of equipment Perform daily PM on tools and equipment; keep the workspace clean and audit-ready Follow safety manuals, work instructions, and SOPs; suggest process improvements Take on additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3+ years in machine building or industrial automation assembly
  • Fluency in interpreting mechanical drawings
  • Hands-on assembly of automated machinery
  • Use of calipers, micrometers, and other precision instruments
  • Crane rigging (required)
  • Forklift operation (certification preferred)
  • Microsoft Outlook/Office and ERP familiarity
  • Strong communicator with high attention to detail

Nice To Haves

  • Associate/technical degree or trade certificate
  • 5+ years in machine building/industrial automation
  • Maintenance or service technician background
  • Experience in custom, high-mix environments

Responsibilities
